There aren't many recipes that only have three ingredients.  Let me rephrase that:  there aren't many recipes that only have three ingredients but also taste amazing.  This smoothie is so simple and is a special way to enjoy perfectly ripe, sweet mangoes.  Mangoes naturally have a very creamy texture.  They also happen to be an excellent source of vitamin A (great for healthy eyes and immunity) and fiber.

The other two ingredients in this recipe also enhance the creamy sweetness of this smoothie.  Bananas just work in smoothies;  they are a reliable way for making sure almost any smoothie comes out tasting great.  And half of a banana is enough to do the trick.

It's important to include a source of protein with a fruit-based meal or snack to help stabilize blood sugar levels in the body.  Greek yogurt packs a big punch of protein so it's a good balance to the sweetness from the fruit, and will help you stay full for a longer time after drinking this smoothie.

There's something else that's pretty neat about this smoothie - because it's so creamy and blends together very well, it will keep in the refrigerator for a couple days without separating.  So you can actually make this smoothie the night before and enjoy it in the morning, or double the batch and have enough for a couple of days.  Just remember to blend the smoothie completely (at least 1 minute) when you make it.

Don't believe me about making a smoothie the night before?  The pictures you see of this smoothie were actually taken 24 hours after I originally made the smoothie.  I didn't re-blend it or anything.  I just opened the jar I had it in, put the fruit on top, and snapped away to get these pics.  :)  One last note on this recipe:  if you don't have access to great fresh mangoes at the moment or don't feel like taking the time to cut them up, frozen mangoes work just fine!
